How to choose a new Ferrari

Ferrari's customisation programme allows Clients to completely personalise their cars, right down to the stitching on the leather interior and the colour of the brake callipers. Ferrari has also set up a dedicated space at its Maranello factory, which is effectively an haute couture Atelier in which Clients can consult with Ferrari’s team of experts on creating a truly bespoke car.

Features affecting the car's performance and safety cannot be modified, neither can the fundamental design of the car, but Clients can make changes to all other areas of their new Ferrari. The main areas covered by the customisation programme are:

Exterior and colours
Clients can choose from a wide range of bodywork colours, double- or triple-coat paintwork, and carbon-fibre inserts for the car's side panels and door handles. They can also select the design and colour of the wheel rims.

Interior and materials
Unusual combinations of colours and types of leather, stitching, engravings on the vehicle's dedication plaque, dashboard and instrumentation details, are all areas covered by Ferrari's customisation programme.

Equipment and travel
Clients can also choose to have a personalised luggage set designed, to match their car's interior.

Variations on interior colours, colour combinations and personalised paintwork are, undoubtedly, the most common requests from Clients in the Atelier. Dark colours are the most popular; in particular, dark metallic greys, blacks and blues.

Some of the more unusual requests have included: reproducing the interior of a historic car owned by a 612 Scaglietti Client, colour samples taken from items belonging to a Client, having the bonnet underbody signed by everyone who worked on building the car, and the purchase of two or more of the same model to allow the owner to have his favourite car in his favourite colours.

There is no limit to how long personalisation can take or how much it can cost. Usually, a 12-cylinder Ferrari takes four weeks to build, but if a Client's request warrants a new feasibility study, suitability tests, etc. then it will, of course, take longer. Similarly, in terms of cost, every style element of an Atelier car is unique, so price is entirely dependent on the features selected by the Client.

At this year's Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari announced some new additions to its range of personalisation options. These include new colour variations and surface treatments for front, side and rear grilles, Challenge-type wheel rims in various colours, and a choice of tailpipe styles. With regard to the interior, there is a new seat, new materials, more trim options and a wider selection of colours and leathers available.

Ferrari also plans to extend its customisation programme and open several more exclusive Ateliers around the world.πηγή:ferrari
